We never imagined that the trip our teachers had planned to Jijona would be so interesting. The day arrived, and we boarded the bus, very excited. We were going to do the first Bioblitz organized by a school in the Valencian Community! And…what is a Bioblitz? Well, it's quite simple. A Bioblitz is a search for species during a specific period and in a specific location.
We arrived at the location and formed work teams.
What was our mission and how were we going to accomplish it? We had to find all the insect traps, photograph and collect samples and evidence of all the animal and plant species we observed, and then identify them with the help of the biologists who accompanied us.
What we never imagined was finding a species, not registered in the Biodiversity Data Bank (BDB) of the Valencian Community, a type of burrowing bee called Amegilla albigena , this is its photo:
And… how did we get to all this?
With enthusiasm, effort, desire, and interest. It was a very rewarding experience for us that we will never forget.

We arrived at our destination and immediately formed groups to begin work.
What was our mission and how were we going to achieve it? We had to find all the insect traps laid, photograph and gather specimens and samples of all the animal and plant species that we came across to be able to identify them later with the help of the biologist that accompanied us.
