The end of the preschool year began with a magical evening at the school and a day of activities. These were the two events with which Children's section of Lope de Vega International School The school year has ended. On the one hand, the 5-year-olds held a camping trip at the school to mark the end of this stage, and on the other hand, the entire grade enjoyed a day full of activities with their families.
Day of togetherness with families
A day of togetherness with families is what, for the second year in a row, the Early Years Stage of the Lope de Vega International School proposes as the grand finale to the end of the school year.
The main focus of this stage is to share and spend quality time together, thus creating a school for everyone. In this way, children, families, and teachers shared quality time participating in workshops, playing games, and eating together.
First, the families painted some with their little ones tote bags which they later took home as souvenirs. There was face painting, costumes, and t-shirt signings. Afterwards, there were team sports games—the little ones and their families made fantastic pairs! And finally, a big paella to share.
The main idea behind this day is to create fun experiences where families can participate. Furthermore, the younger children greatly enjoy showing their families around the school and their daily routine on a day that is designed for them and with them. These, among many others, are important activities for building a school community together.
A magical night at school
Prior to the day of activities, the five-year-old kindergarteners experienced a magical night at the school. This allowed the children to enjoy a unique and truly special end-of-year celebration: a camping trip at their own school with all their classmates and teachers.
There was an initial reception with the families, and afterwards, the teachers had prepared different activities and games for them. Afterwards, they had dinner (including ice cream) and played with flashlights.
Before bed, a story was a must! And… the next morning, breakfast was all together! Waking up next to their classmates from these past few years and experiencing school in such a different setting has been an incredible experience for them. Now, their childhood mentors are letting go so they can continue growing, playing, learning, and exploring in a new stage of their lives. But they will always have a special place in their hearts.
