NEXT OPEN DAY MARCH 25TH, OPEN ENROLLMENT

The school commemorates its founders on its 60th anniversary through internationalism and music.

  • The school has been recognized with an EU quality label for its Erasmus+ international programs
  • Students and teachers have formed a musical group in an unprecedented performance

The school celebrated Founders' Day at the Lope de Vega International School, a day in which students and teachers commemorated the beginnings of the educational institution and its founders, Mr. Juan Fuster Zaragoza and Mrs. Carmen Pérez González. This year also marks the school's 60th anniversary, an event that has led to the school hosting important celebrations throughout the year, such as the inauguration of the Community Garden by the Bishop of Orihuela-Alicante, and the CICAE National Pre-University Debate League.

The day, which began with a Mass, continued with the presentation of awards to both the school and the students. The school was awarded the Erasmus+ Quality Label for International Projects by the European Agency, a prestigious award recognizing Lope de Vega's long history of international collaboration and its status as a leading center in this field. This was one of the most moving moments of the morning, as all the teachers who had participated in the project over the past few years took to the stage. A student representative who had participated in these projects, Tobías Franco, also spoke, highlighting "how much these projects have contributed to his personal growth by giving him the opportunity to travel to other countries on exchange programs."

The prizes for the padel and ping-pong tournaments were also awarded, as well as those for the 17th edition of the "Juan Fuster Zaragoza" Short Story Competition, in which students from all grade levels participated. The special 60th Anniversary prize for the best essay on technology in our daily lives, which was the theme of the stories, was awarded to Naroa Aranzánbal, a 6th-grade student, who received the prize from Vicente Fuster, the school's headmaster.

The event concluded with music and a special BTT (Breaking Talent Time) talent show, a student-led initiative where all students in the school can showcase their talents during recess. Students and teachers performed together on this celebratory day, eliciting applause and dancing from everyone present.

In the afternoon, the 5th grade students performed a play depicting the Discovery of the Virgin of Suffrage, Patron Saint of Benidorm. This play, by the "La Barqueta" theater group, is performed every year at the school, and on March 11th, the school will also participate in the Flower Offering to the Patron Saint, organized by the Benidorm Patron Saint Festival Committee.
