During January 14, 15 and 16, four students from Lope de Vega International School participated in the VI Autonomous Session of the Model Parliament of the Valencian Community and Region of Murcia.
In this edition, the students selected to represent the school The students were Alsia Filip, Albert Giurgiu, Jimena Soria, and Carlos Taverner; all first-year Baccalaureate students. They were part of a group of 48 students from twelve schools in the Valencian Community and Murcia. They all enjoyed a weekend full of debates and research, as well as making new friends and spending time together. teambuilding.
As in previous editions, our students have been accompanied by Juanjo Romero, coordinator of the competition and teacher at the school.
Four current issues up for debate
This edition, the second in-person one after the pandemic, was held in the Jardí Botanic de la Universitat de ValenciaDuring three intense days of European Parliament debate, students from different schools addressed four current issues: the new geopolitical order and the defense of Europe; artificial intelligence; youth employment and the supply crisis in the EU.
Model Parliament Program
The Model Parliament is an educational program designed to foster European citizenship and a culture of constructive parliamentary debate among young people. Through this program, students have the opportunity to research various current European issues, express their opinions, present proposals, and even serve as members of parliament for a few days. This program operates at both national and European levels.
