(Spanish diploma)

The DELE is the only official qualification that certifies the level of competence and mastery of the Spanish language.
This title is awarded by the Cervantes Institute on behalf of the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport and It can only be obtained at examination centers accredited by the Cervantes Institute, such as the Lope de Vega International School.
Diplomas in Spanish as a Foreign Language are internationally recognized and facilitate access:
- To university studies, mainly Masters, which require accreditation of the B2 and C1 level of the European Framework of Reference for Languages.
- To the world of work, since they are recognized by private companies and chambers of commerce.
The DELE exams are designed following the guidelines of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) of the Council of Europe.
The following diplomas can be obtained:
DELE A1 (Basic user: access)
DELE A2 (Basic user: platform)
DELE B1 (Independent User: Intermediate)
DELE B2 (Independent User: Upper Intermediate)
DELE C1 (Competent User: Effective Operational Mastery)

DELE A1
The Spanish Diploma
Level A1 certifies sufficient linguistic competence for:
- understand and use everyday expressions used by Spanish speakers for immediate needs;
- ask for and give information basic personal information about oneself;
- interact in a very basic way with speakers.
DELE A2
The Spanish Diploma
A2 level certification
the ability to:
- understand and use everyday expressions related to basic information about oneself, one's situation and one's environment.
- communicate in a simple and direct way known aspects and to describe in simple terms aspects of their past and their environment.
- resolve issues basic related to their immediate needs.
DELE B1
The Spanish Diploma
B1 level accredits
the ability to:
- It includesr main points of oral and written texts, of known subjects.
- unwind in most everyday and familiar situations and contexts.
- produce simple and coherent texts on familiar topics, of personal interest, or the expression of opinions.
DELE B2
The Spanish Diploma
B2 level accredits
the ability to:
- grasp the essentials of complex oral and written texts, in specialized subjects.
- to interact with a sufficient degree of fluency and naturalness.
- produce texts clear and detailed on various matters, including those involving dialectical analysis, debate, or defense of a point of view.
DELE C1
The Spanish Diploma
C1 level accreditation
the ability to:
- unwind fluent in any variant of the language, recognizing even implicit meanings, attitudes or intentions;
- express yourself fluently, spontaneity and apparent effortlessness, and always finding the right expression for the situation and context.
- use the language with flexibility and efficiency.
DELE C2
The Spanish Diploma
C2 level accreditation
the ability to:
- to handle any situation understanding virtually everything that is heard or read, regardless of its length, complexity, or level of abstraction.
- to express oneself spontaneously with fluency and precision, differentiating nuances of meaning even in academic and work environments with a high degree of specialization and complexity.

To formalize registration at DELE examination centers recognized by the Instituto Cervantes, the candidate must provide the required documentation:
Candidates wishing to apply for the Diplomas of Spanish as a Foreign Language must prove, at the time of registration, their status as citizens of a country in which Spanish is not an official language.
- At Lope de Vega International School we have courses to prepare for the different levels, in the afternoons.
- Before starting the course, a test will be conducted to place you in the appropriate group.
