On October 19th, to mark International Breast Cancer Awareness Day, the Lope de Vega International School turned pink.
Our students came dressed in pink and wearing the solidarity t-shirt that Anemone Marina Baixa The school has carried out several activities to commemorate its 20th anniversary. But the school didn't just turn pink; it also participated in various activities to raise awareness about this disease that affects one in twelve women. These included making scarves, distributing bracelets and ribbons, and creating posters.
All these activities were organized by the LdV Solidarity Youth Club in collaboration with all educational levels. Thanks to this initiative, the entire school community is involved, from preschool students to those in vocational training programs. Furthermore, throughout the year, not just on this day, efforts are made to raise awareness about this serious illness. Through the Solidarity Youth Club and in the classrooms, the school strives to highlight the need for and importance of collaborating with organizations and research programs.
An example of this collaboration with local associations is the visit we received from a delegation from Anémona Marina Baixa on this very special day for them.
