- The team made up of 4 Economics students from the 2nd year of Baccalaureate has won the 1st edition of this audiovisual competition
- From among all the provincial winners, the National College of Economists will choose the national winner.
Second-year high school students Alba Romero, Morgana Kidgell, Maria Britt García and Hugo Ardura, along with public speaking coach Miguel Salguero and subject teacher Ana Todolí, were the representatives of Lope de Vega in the first edition of the Financial Education Video Contest, organized by the National College of Economists.
A competition in which high school students from all over Spain have submitted videos they have made in which they answer the question: Is it more responsible to consume or to save in a situation like the current one?
With good argumentation and creativity when editing the video, the Lope de Vega team has won first place in the province of Alicante.
Having passed this first phase, which has been evaluated by the College of Economists of Alicante, they are now preparing the second phase, which consists of sending the same video to the Bank of Spain, which will choose the national winner from among all the provincial videos received.
This same group of students was already a semi-finalist in the Financial Knowledge Competition organized by the Bank of Spain and the National Securities Market Commission last September, after passing all the previous phases and in their debut in this competition.
The Economics Department at Lope de Vega emphasizes "the importance of students facing real-life situations in which they put into practice the financial knowledge they acquire in the classroom."
