During the past week, the Lope de Vega International School acted as host of the meeting CALE (Learning Community for Educational Leaders) 2022. CALE is an alliance of different private schools across Spain (The English Centre from Cadiz, CEDES School from Albacete, Ramón y Cajal Schools from Madrid and Lope de Vega International School from Alicante), associated with Escalae Institute, united in the pursuit of constant educational improvement.
Sharing educational experiences
These schools meet annually to share knowledge about pedagogy, educational experiences, and to implement active and practical methodologies for applying specific strategies in the classroom. The goal of these meetings is to understand the characteristics of future generations and to study their needs in order to meet them effectively.
Workshops, presentations and activities
The CALE 2022 meeting featured a variety of workshops, presentations, and activities. Teachers from Lope de Vega School led seminars and workshops on Socratic thinking and hands-on mathematics. The Early Childhood Education team shared how they are working with this stage through a comprehensive project based on real-life learning situations. The LDV Solidarity Youth Club shared how the school promotes solidarity. The Guidance Department discussed well-being initiatives that can be implemented in schools. The new education law, LOMLOE, and its implementation in classrooms were also addressed. Roundtable discussions on leadership and other topics were also held.
All these activities go a step beyond simply sharing; they involve establishing dialogues with other centers to receive feedback and mutually enrich each other with the proposals being carried out in each of them.
CALE 2022, more than twenty teachers and administrators
More than twenty teachers and administrators from the schools that make up CALE traveled to Lope de Vega International School to share knowledge and experiences for the benefit of everyone involved. Our school would like to thank them for their effort and willingness to make this meeting enriching for all participants.
