Lope de Vega International School celebrates peace and says “no” to violence. Every January 30th, students and teachers at the school reflect on the importance of living in a peaceful world.
“Peace is the way”
El Indian pacifist leader Mathama Gandhi He affirmed that “there is no path to peace: peace is the path.” This date commemorates the anniversary of Gandhi's death. This leader fought for the rights of the Indian people through peaceful resistance and by promoting nonviolence. On January 30, 1948, he was assassinated by a young radical.
The Lope de Vega celebrates peace
More than 700 boys and girls from Lope de Vega school attended an event where some of the students prepared a series of performances for the occasion. Children y Primary, going through the ESO y Undergraduate Degrees This Tuesday, January 30th, they met in the courtyard of the Educational Center where the young artists creatively, with dances, songs, games, poems and reflections, showed in a pleasant and fun way "the way of seeing peace and non-violence".
The grand finale was a beautiful rendition of John Lennon's song Imagine.
Tolerance, respect and solidarity
Peace Day, for its Thematic Non-violence, conflict resolution, and coexistence are addressed at all levels of the school to promote values such as: tolerance, respect and solidarity.
