The Lope de Vega organises the III Spanish Beach Tennis Championship which will take place from the 23rd to the 25th of June in Benidorm;
The collaboration between the Benidorm Town Hall, the Lope de Vega International School and the Spanish Tennis Federation will be extended for three more editions
From 23 to 25 June, more than 130 athletes from 12 federated teams will compete in the third edition of the tournament; The best beach tennis players in Spain will take part in the III Campeonato de España Absoluto por Comunidades on 23, 24 and 25 June; A tournament organised by the Lope de Vega International School, together with the Spanish Tennis Federation, CostaTennis and with the collaboration of the Benidorm Town Hall. This was presented by Carles Vicent and Arnau Royo of the Royal Spanish Tennis Federation and Alfonso Baicacoa, Director of the Championships.
12 federated teams are taking part;
Twelve federated teams, representing the Autonomous Communities where this sporting discipline is practised, as well as Ceuta and Melilla, will take part in the event, with a total of more than 130 sportsmen and women; The courts located in the sports area of the Poniente beach in Benidorm will host the matches of the tournament; The semi-finals and final will be played on the main court of the Lope de Vega International School. The tournament already has the commitment for the next editions, adding the facilities of the school and the courts of the Poniente beach.
Benidorm, pioneer in beach tennis

For his part, Carles Vicent, Sports Coordinator of the Spanish Tennis Federation and responsible for Beach Tennis in Spain, has pointed out “the importance of this tournament and the facilities offered by Benidorm”; He also highlighted “the collaboration of the Benidorm Town Hall and the organisation of the Lope de Vega school”;
On the other hand, the director of the championship and manager of Costa Tennis, Alfonso Bacaicoa, has highlighted “the synergy between the City Council of Benidorm, the Spanish Tennis Federation and the Lope de Vega that materialize this III Championship of Spain Beach Tennis”;
This new state competition of beach tennis responds to the enormous boom that is taking the new sport in our country; This year the number of participants in the Championship has doubled: more than one hundred absolute couples, plus the competitors in the youth categories (U18 and U14) and veterans (+35 and +45);
