On Thursday, September 26th, the “Missio Canonica” took place in the Holy Co-Cathedral Church of St. Nicholas in the city of Alicante. Bishop Jesús Murgui, Bishop of Orihuela-Alicante, celebrated a solemn Eucharist during which he commissioned the religion teachers of our Diocese. The bishop is a successor of the apostles and therefore it is he who sends them in the name of the Lord Jesus. In his homily, he invited us to the “joy of faith” and “the enthusiasm to transmit it to the students”; he also recommended that we look to the Virgin Mary as the Mother who guides and accompanies our faith.
Lope de Vega International School, true to its Catholic identity, also wished to be present at this important celebration. Along with the school chaplain, Father Francisco Javier Rodríguez, the teachers Joaquín Baldo, Silvia Berenguer, Miguel López, Elisabet Poncela, Ana María Fuster, Nuría Ruiz, Esther Escartín, Carolina Picó, Eva Rodríguez, and Kelly received this gift from the bishop.
