Erasmus+ meeting for social inclusion in Milan

A team from Lope de Vega, consisting of 6 students, a teacher and the Director, traveled to Milan this week to continue working on the Erasmus+ project that they coordinate together with schools from Sweden, Italy and the Czech Republic.

This is the 2nd meeting of the Project Youth Empowering Society: Targeting Social Inclusion which began last year and continues this year. A cooperative project between schools in different countries that is part of Within the Erasmus+ framework, the project's main objective is to raise awareness and encourage social inclusion. Students from the four participating countries are addressing the growing phenomenon of immigration, which particularly affects the European Union, and exploring actions that can be implemented across various social sectors.

The meeting began with presentations from each country and continued with a group work session. For five days, 24 students aged 15 to 17 and their teachers will work together. with the firm conviction that together they must make an effort to analyze differently what is happening in our society after the intense migratory movements that are taking place and that are generating confrontation among Europeans, and phenomena such as the rise of far-right parties in several countries of the old continent.

The project will culminate in the development of sustainable educational products and materials that the participating schools will integrate into their curricula as useful tools for improving the skills of students aspiring to become true European citizens. It will also make the results visible to the entire European educational community and the rest of the world, another objective already set in the agenda of this project, which will conclude in June 2018.

This is not the first time that schools associated with this project have joined forces to participate in one of the most interesting cultural programs it offers. the Spanish Service for the Internationalization of Education, SEPIE ( Autonomous body dependent on the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport). In fact, the National Agencies of Sweden and Italy recognized the latest project, entitled "Youth Empowering Skills for the 21st Century", with the Quality Seal.
