Sixth-grade student Germán Cabedo represented the school in the provincial phase of the Mathematics Olympiad, which took place last Saturday at the Miguel Hernández University of Elche. Germán was one of only two elementary school students who had advanced from the district phase held in l'Alfàs del Pi last April. A total of 669 students participated in that phase, and 30 were selected per grade level for the provincial stage.
This time, only eight students advanced to the regional phase, and Germán wasn't among them. However, it was an unforgettable experience for him, as he spent a weekend with other students and his math teachers, Mr. Manuel Valero and Ms. Davinia Gómez.
