Harry Potter was the star of LDV Literary Week. This year, Lope de Vega International School celebrated its traditional Literary Week from April 24th to 28th, coinciding with World Book Day (April 23rd).
The Language Department of the School, in collaboration with other areas of the same, prepared a whole week full of activities, the vast majority of which were related to the theme chosen for this year: the Harry Potter literary saga.
A bookstore in the school
The students at Lope de Vega school enjoyed their own bookstore. But it wasn't just that the school was filled with new titles available to everyone; many students had the opportunity to become professional booksellers and give reading recommendations to their classmates. Quite an experience! What's more, this year sales records were broken—who says young people don't read?
Hunting fantastic animals
A Harry Potter-themed Literature Week wouldn't be complete without a fantastic beast hunt. Students participated in scavenger hunts filled with challenges they had to overcome. Linguistic, mathematical, and mental agility tests—a sea of obstacles they had to conquer to capture their favorite fantastic creatures. In addition, there was a treasure hunt centered on the stories from the famous book series.
Clearning communities
The school takes advantage of the LDV Literary Week to create “learning communities”This is an educational model in which all courses, subjects, teachers, and students actively participate around a common theme to learn together, using the same tools and in the same environment. Thus, students of Children, Primary, Middle School, Undergraduate Degrees and even Cycles participate in the same event. In this way, one of the key attractions of LDV Literary Week was the p Literary, complete with the Sorting Hat, a key element of Harry Potter. A spectacular set whose creation by the students fostered skills such as creativity and artistic expression.
On the other hand, a league was developed from the Physical Education department. quidditch (the sport played in the famous Harry Potter saga). All this without neglecting reading activities, author visits, or workshops in science, crafts, games…
