The cultural environment in Early Childhood Education
The cultural environment involves exposure to different cultures and respect for tradition. In the Early Childhood stage, it is essential that students have experiences rooted in their immediate surroundings. This unit has fostered this exposure to culture through songs, music, food, and play (as a source of learning and the primary expression of childhood). Furthermore, the unit has aimed to develop a critical attitude through various educational approaches, introducing students to the analysis of their own context and that of others.
3 years, identity markers
In three years they have been able to discover some identifying characteristics through stories, songs and dancesand by classifying their own Garments associated with different situations and contexts.
4 years old, traditional games
In four years they have been able to learn about some traditional games and toys from popular culture and create their own, placing special emphasis on the need to reuse materials, thus promoting development of creativity and sustainability.
5 years, landscapes
In five years, proposals have been established for the different areas of learning through the analysis of the different landscapes, with their recreation through different miniworlds.
The cultural environment linked to tradition: Christmas at the Lope de Vega!
One of the most important aspects of this unit has been its connection to our traditions, coinciding with the end of the year and The celebration of Christmas as part of our cultureDuring the final weeks of the year, the students enthusiastically experienced magical moments through various activities specially prepared for this time of year, culminating in the much-anticipated visit of the Three Wise Men. The youngest children in the school were able to appreciate the true meaning of Christmas: sharing and celebrating with family.
Christmas images
We would like to share some pictures from this last period of the year and thank the families again for their collaboration in making it possible.
Solidarity Cinema
The LDV Youth Solidarity Club organized a Christmas "charity movie" event. Admission included a serving of popcorn prepared by the club members themselves, students from other grade levels. The proceeds went to... Rafiki Africa, an NGO with educational purposes in Uganda of which the College is a part.
Christmas cookie workshop
This culinary workshop, focused on making Christmas cookies, was especially interesting because it was developed in collaboration with the Primary School. It was wonderful to see how different age groups shared and created a sense of community.
Three Kings Day with Family
It wasn't just the children who enjoyed the Three Kings. Families are a crucial part of our community, which is why this Christmas we decided to involve them like never before in all the school's activities.
