Last Friday, Lope de Vega International School celebrated one of the most emotional moments of the school year: the Graduation Ceremony for its students.
A total of 96 students graduated this year, 51 from Baccalaureate programs and 45 from advanced vocational training programs. The vocational training ceremony began at 6:30 p.m. and the Baccalaureate ceremony at 9:00 p.m. Both took place in the school's gymnasium, where more than 300 people, including family, friends, and teachers, gathered.
The 45 students from Higher Level Vocational Training programs belonged to the 13th graduating class of Higher Level Vocational Training in Physical Education (TSEI), the 18th graduating class of Higher Level Vocational Training in Sports and Physical Activity (TSEAS), and the 7th graduating class of Higher Level Vocational Training in Physical Activity and Sports (TSAF). The patron of these graduating classes was Mr. Jose Manuel Escribano, a Physics graduate with a Master's degree in Neurobiology and Exercise Physiology and a member of the coaching staff of the Benidorm Handball Club. Mr. Escribano emphasized curiosity as the best quality for never ceasing to learn in life and encouraged the students to continue their education in this highly competitive field.
At 9 pm the Graduation Ceremony for the 57th graduating class of high school students began. Fifty-one students were completing their time at the school, and they were honored to do so under the patronage of Ms. Verónica Costa, better known as “VIKIKA,” a businesswoman in the Sport Tech sector, CEO of Entrena Virtual and Vikika Team, and a former student of Lope de Vega International School.
Verónica gave a very moving speech that began with her time as a student at the school, recounting how she became the most influential person in the Healthy Living sector, according to Forbes magazine. In addition to her, student representatives spoke, moving their classmates, as did the school's Headmistress, Ms. María Fuster.
In addition to the graduation certificates, diplomas were also awarded to students who completed the Spanish-American Dual Baccalaureate program, and honors were given to the most outstanding students. The ceremony concluded with two musical performances by students.
