The 8th edition of the UNI2 Competition, organized by the CEU Cardenal Herrera University of ElcheIt has brought together students from across the province to present educational proposals focused on improving coexistence and the environment; it has been a platform for young people to showcase their ideas with real and social impact.
The students of Lope de Vega International School They stood out from over 100 students with their project to create a school garden. A great success that highlights the qualities of our students: committed students who are role models for their environment and community.
A garden to cultivate well-being and sustainability
The winning project involves the creation of a school garden that not only improves the climate of the center, but also promotes sustainability by transforming the waste generated during breaks into natural fertilizer. Beyond its ecological benefits, this garden has a positive impact on the educational community.
On the one hand, it fosters collaboration between students, teachers and families, thus reinforcing the sense of belonging and cooperation.
This school garden has been a clear example of how education can be an engine of change, contributing to a more sustainable and emotionally healthy future for all.
The jury highlighted the proposal for its cross-cutting approach, which not only promotes sustainability, but also the emotional stability of the students.
A global project for the benefit of society
As part of Lope de Vega International School's commitment to society, the prize money of this competition, amounting to 2,500 euros, will be entirely donated to... Carmen Pérez González School in Uganda of the association Rafiki.
The goal is to replicate the same project at this educational center, which Lope de Vega International School has supported and sustained since its creation decades ago.
The students met with the president of the NGO Rafiki Africa to present him with the donation and explain the project in its entirety.
Thus, both schools, Lope de Vega International School and Rafiki Afrika, will be part of the same project, but in different countries, united by a common purpose: the benefit of society and the improvement of the educational environment.
This international collaboration reinforces Lope de Vega's commitment to solidarity and global sustainability.
This type of initiative not only contributes to improving the school environment, but also strengthens young people's commitment to the environment and collective well-being.
