Therefore, we are proud to announce that our center has once again been recognized with the distinction of Photoprotected School, awarded by the ISDIN Foundation for this year.
This recognition acknowledges the school's commitment to prevention, health education and the promotion of responsible habits related to sun exposure, especially important in a privileged area like the Costa Blanca, where we enjoy numerous outdoor activities for much of the year.
The importance of sun protection education
Sun exposure is part of our daily lives and offers numerous benefits when done properly. However, excessive or unprotected exposure can have negative health consequences, especially during childhood and adolescence, stages in which the skin is more vulnerable to the effects of ultraviolet radiation.
For this reason, sun protection education has become a fundamental tool for promoting healthy habits from an early age. Using sunscreen, hats, certified sunglasses, and appropriate clothing are simple habits that can make a big difference in the long run.
The fundamental role of the Nursing Service
Obtaining this distinction is also the result of the constant work carried out by the Service Nursing from Lope de Vega International School, whose work goes far beyond daily healthcare.
Our nursing service plays an essential role in the Health promotion within the school environment through the development of awareness campaigns, educational programs and preventive actions aimed at students, families and staff of the center.
Throughout the school year, the Nursing Service promotes health education initiatives, fostering habits that contribute to the physical and emotional well-being of the entire school community. These actions allow our students to acquire knowledge and tools that will benefit them throughout their lives.
This year's sun protection campaign has included awareness activities adapted to different educational stages, promoting the importance of skin care and preventing the harmful effects of solar radiation.
