Students of Primary y Middle School The Lope de Vega school participated, last Saturday, March 25, in the regional phase of the XXXIII edition of the Mathematics Olympiad of the Valencian CommunityThe Olympiad welcomed almost 200 young people from the Marina Alta and Marina Baixa regions. Special mention for Ou Yang Zhou, a student of the College, who turned out selected at level B (3rd and 4th year of ESO) to move on to the provincial phase, which will take place on May 6th.
To highlight the value of mathematics
Promoting the value of mathematics is one of the main objectives of the event. This event, organized by the Al-Khuwarizmi Society for Mathematical Education of the Valencian CommunityIt is aimed at students from 5th grade of Primary School to 4th year of Secondary School. Furthermore, it seeks that students enjoy problem-solving.
Regional Olympiad in three phases
The Olympiad is divided into three phases: a first local, held on March 25. A second provincialwhich will take place on May 6th. And one last autonomicwhich will be held on May 27 and 28. From this final phase will emerge Three representatives have been selected to participate in the National Mathematical Olympiad next June.
