On Friday, September 27th, we celebrated the opening Mass of the school year at our school. Representatives from each grade, along with the teachers and school administration, gathered in the chapel for this celebration.
The Eucharist is the memorial of the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, made present through the power of the Holy Spirit. Lope de Vega International School has chosen to place itself under the guidance of the Holy Spirit as we journey through this new academic year. We want to journey, grow, and learn, but above all, we want to be good men and women, to live as true children of God in our world.
Our bishop, Monsignor Jesús Murgui, encourages us at the start of the school year with these words:
“As this new course begins, I think of and pray for all of you who are especially involved in the pastoral and educational work of our parishes, communities, schools and other ecclesial realities. Therefore, it is important to ask for the light of the Spirit, so that we may assist in His work, so that our actions may be directed toward cooperating and collaborating with God's work. Constant prayer and supplication for the Lord's guidance in our tasks are fundamental, asking the Spirit that all our activity may originate in Him as its source, be accompanied by His grace, and, at the same time, tend toward Him as its end. Therefore, I encourage all of you who live and work within the diocese in parishes, schools, communities, movements, and various groups to prepare yourselves with enthusiasm to begin the year, thinking about the planned itineraries and the necessary programming, but above all, contemplating the task with the eyes of faith, feeling ourselves to be cooperators in the action of the Spirit in his Church, and imploring his light and help in constant prayer.”
