In the 2022-23 school year, Christmas at Lope de Vega International School was a little different, as we already anticipated with the program.
Beyond all the Christmas preparations and activities that have been taking place throughout December, the most noteworthy development this year has been the increased participation of families, especially in Early Years and Primary. After all, if Christmas is about anything, it's about sharing and togetherness. Our school community is a whole comprised of students, teachers, and families; so the school decided to celebrate these special holidays together with its entire community.
Christmas card contest
We began with the Christmas card competition (both the one organized by the school and the one held by the Benidorm City Council). The winning card in the school competition, which was also used to send holiday greetings to our entire school community, was created by Denisse Jessica Ursulescu, from 2nd year ESO B.

In addition, two students from Lope de Vega were awarded prizes in the Benidorm City Council competitionMiguel Boronat, a 5-year-old student, won 2nd prize in the Children's category. Meanwhile, Bezlepkina Sasha, a 4th-grade student, won 3rd prize in the upper elementary category.
Christmas activities
Throughout December, both teachers and students have been preparing for the holidays with various Christmas activities and rehearsals. These ranged from recycled decorations for the school tree to Christmas cookie workshops, slogans, crafts, and exchanging cards, letters, and customs with other European countries. Here's a small collection of photos.
Christmas Week
During the week of December 19-22, the entire school enjoyed a full Christmas programThere have been arts and crafts workshops and sports activities for the different primary school levels, where we've seen families enjoying themselves with their children. All of these were organized by the Vocational Training programs. There were also various charity activities coordinated by the LDV Youth Solidarity Club, including a Charity Film Day, a Charity Sports Festival for secondary and high school students, a Music Festival, a Dance Festival, a musical theater performance, a Three Kings Day celebration, a hot chocolate event… and, in short, many magical moments of community spirit.
Collection of solidarity products
In addition to all the donations raised through the sale of lottery tickets, raffle tickets for the Christmas basket, donations from activities such as the Solidarity Cinema, the Solidarity Sports Festival, etc., most of which are destined for Rafiki's Solidarity ProjectA large number of hygiene products and food items were also collected for Cáritas Benidorm and ACOMAR. The 3rd year ESO A class alone collected a total of 63 kg.
