Patricia Ripoll was the brightest student in the region last year, and for this reason, yesterday the Rotary Club of Benidorm presented her with the award. Isidro Cortina Award which, in its 5th edition, recognizes the academic excellence of students who are going on to university.

Patricia, a student at the Lope de Vega International School until last June when she finished her second year of Baccalaureate, expressed her gratitude for this recognition through an emotional speech in which she reminisced about her time at the school. “I was at Lope de Vega from age 3 to 18, and I always felt at home.” Patricia has been a model of brilliance, effort, and passion in equal measure, embodying all the values that Lope de Vega seeks to instill in its students. Her average of 11,684 out of a possible 12 is the highest in all editions of this award. But, in addition to her great academic talent, she also demonstrated her compassion, donating part of the €3.000 prize to the Doble Amor Center, which supports people with intellectual disabilities.

She is currently a first-year student of International Business at the University of Valencia, and says she remembers Lope de Vega School fondly "because of everything I learned there. I want to thank all the teachers for teaching me so much and so well," she told those present.

The gala, held at the Hotel Agir, was attended by all members of the Rotary Club, led by its president, Enrique Ballester, and the mayor of Benidorm, Agustín Navarro, who emphasized “the fundamental role that Lope de Vega has played in the city for over 50 years. It is a great joy for me that a student from Benidorm, and especially from this school, has won the award,” he concluded.
