CHRONICLES OF THE TOWER: the coming-of-age saga
Hello! I'm making my debut today in the new Literature section of the Donlope Literature Blog. My aim is to encourage reading among elementary, middle, and high school students, so I hope you'll become as passionate about reading as I am!
In my first recommendation I would like to talk to you about the tetralogy that introduced me to Laura Gallego, my favorite writer.
What I liked: the fantasy theme, including elves, wizards, and curses, as well as romance. Another thing I really enjoyed were the character profiles included in the book. There were also some really cool illustrations by Marcelo Pérez inside. It's not a boring book (the beginning of the first one is a little slow), although the second and third are the most entertaining.
What I didn't like: the relationships between characters, as they are a bit sad.
Ideal for people who: like wizards and/or magic and love dramas, as well as adventures.
Not recommended if: you hate sentimentality and impossible loves. Approximate time it took me to read it: 1 month (or less) per book.
