The 3rd Lope de Vega Debate Tournament focuses on regulating the prices of essential goods and products in the face of high inflation like the one we are currently experiencing. Is price regulation advisable?

This will be the question they will face 24 and 25 March the teams participating in the Third edition of the Lope de Vega Debate TournamentThe tournament, aimed at students in the 3rd and 4th years of ESO (Compulsory Secondary Education) and Bachillerato (Upper Secondary Education), is organized by the school together with Kairós CommunicationA prestigious consulting firm that collaborates with the Center in training in debate and public speaking. In addition, the event is sponsored by the Telefónica Chair at the University of Alicante and Zeblack.

Controversy in the Government

Currently, a major controversy is brewing within the government: the Consumer Price Index (CPI) has risen again in recent days, and some members of the administration are calling for price controls. Therefore, the debate taking place at the Lope de Vega International School mirrors the current internal debate within the government itself. Will the participants in our tournament reach the same conclusions as the government?

Among the participating schools this year we have the Arenas Atlántico School, from Gran Canaria, the San Agustin's School, from Alicante, to Virgen del Pasico SchoolFrom Murcia, among others. In addition, the Lope de Vega International School's own debate team will participate in the tournament.

They were also finalists in the CICAE-UCJC pre-university debate tournament, which they hosted in its early years.

2022 edition
