Last February, the LDV Solidarity Youth Club launched the "A School for Life" campaign. This initiative aims to raise funds to help María José Arco, a former student of the school, cover the high cost of the therapies she is undergoing after having a brain tumor detected and removed in 2020.
María José Arco, former student of the school
María José Arco, in addition to being a former student of the school, is a true fighter. In 2020, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor and, since then, has lived with the resulting effects on her body. These range from learning to walk again to working with speech therapists and intervention specialists.
María José was able to share all the difficulties she faces in her daily life and her invaluable example of overcoming adversity with the students of the school thanks to a talk that the Solidarity Youth Club held at the Center on February 14, the day of friendship and love.
The bell
The LDV Solidarity Youth Club wanted to give this campaign a highly collaborative character, involving all the families of the school, not just students and teachers. Therefore, they invited the entire school community to donate prizes to organize a charity raffle.
The response has been overwhelming, and all kinds of prizes have been collected, from hotel stays, dinners or meals at restaurants, lunches, beauty and/or wellness products, sports equipment, school supplies, books, gift certificates… Both the prizes and the collaborators are listed in the following posters.
Raffle tickets
Once all the collaborators and prizes for the "A School for Life" campaign were finalized, raffle tickets went on sale. All proceeds from these tickets will go directly to funding María José Arco's rehabilitation therapies.
Tickets can be purchased for €2 both in the classrooms and at the school reception.
Raffle winners
The raffle winners will be announced during the school's Health Day celebration on April 5th. On that day, in addition to the drawing, the total amount raised through the campaign will be revealed. The check will then be presented to María José Arco.
