Secondary school
A cooperative experience
Secondary stage
___________________
In secondary school there is a significant extension of the school schedule of more than 200 hours per year, which allows for enrichment programs in several areas of knowledge. Además, el programa internacional cobra importancia en esta etapa educativa, en la que los alumnos ya pueden optar a programas de ‘Intercambio’ o ‘Erasmus +’.
Through cooperative work, the higher skills of critical and creative thinking are worked on. On the other hand, oral presentations, very common in the classroom, allow students to develop effective communication.

methodology
___________________
We put into practice active methodologies that involve greater autonomy, greater discovery, a better relationship with the environment and the surroundings, the use of critical thinking that far from accepting watertight knowledge, raises more questions and problems, and more teamwork;
technology

More than 60 laptops are available for the ESO and Bachillerato stages, allowing students and teachers innovative and flexible work proposals.
A large part of the subjects require cooperative group work and the development of digital products, reflective diaries and e-portfolios. So these tools are highly effective.
They run on open source software and web-based 2.0 tools. Students use their school email accounts, which include the full suite of Google Apps applications and tools to generate their documents and presentations.
mathematics project
___________________
Mathematics is traditionally the most feared subject among pupils. The protagonist of many of the failures, the truth is that they are one of the most difficult subjects to assimilate; It is this complexity that makes the approach to teaching them key to motivating or demotivating students, so that, if taught with the right methodology, they can even become a favourite subject for many of them.
Our Mathematics Project works with new teaching and learning dynamics that make this science more approachable and understandable; By using our own materials – created by our teachers – and presenting them to pupils as part of everyday reality, we have managed to make them one of the most popular subjects and the results are very positive;
Exchange and Erasmus+

The International Project is based, on the one hand, on language learning, continuing with Spanish and English, and incorporating French from the first year of ESO.
The level is certified by official exams of the University of Cambridge, l’Alliance Française and the Instituto Cervantes.
The programme of exchanges and short and long-term stays in European Schools gives a strong impetus to these linguistic objectives, as well as motivating pupils not only to learn other languages, but also to form their European citizenship and reinforce their autonomy and self-confidence.
Secondary school pupils participate in the European Erasmus + Programme together with schools in other countries and it is at this stage that they can start the Dual Baccalaureate, a programme that allows them to obtain a double qualification in the Baccalaureate: the Spanish and the United States one.
We form competent citizens
___________________
Through the development of competencies that lead them to be able to think objectively and connect constructively with the world around us.
Identifying ways to incorporate into the educational program, sufficient actions that impact on these skills: Communication and collaboration; Creativity and critical thinking; Intercultural competence and citizenship; Emotional self-regulation and well-being and Digital literacy.
