Nunca pensábamos que la salida que nos habían propuesto nuestras tutoras a Jijona, hubiera sido tan interesante. Llegó el día y nos subimos al autobús muy emocionados. ¡Íbamos a hacer el primer Bioblitz que hace un colegio en la Comunidad Valenciana! ¿Y…qué es un Bioblitz? Pues, muy fácil. Un Bioblitz es una búsqueda de especies durante un periodo determinado y en un lugar dado.
Llegamos al lugar y formamos equipos de trabajo.
¿Cuál era nuestra misión y cómo lo íbamos a conseguir? Teníamos que encontrar todas las trampas de insectos, fotografiar y recoger muestras y pruebas de todas las especies animales y vegetales que íbamos observando, para posteriormente identificarlas con la ayuda de los biólogos que nos acompañaban.
Lo que nunca imaginamos sería encontrar una especie, que no estaba registrada en el Banco de Datos de Biodiversidad (BDB) de la Comunidad Valenciana, un tipo de abeja excavadora llamada Amegilla albigena, esta es su foto:
Y … ¿cómo llegamos a todo esto?
Pues con entusiasmo, esfuerzo, ganas e interés. Fue una experiencia muy gratificante para nosotros que nunca olvidaremos.

We never imagined that the excursion to Jijona that our tutor teachers proposed would be so interesting. The big day arrived and we got on the bus feeling excited. We were going to be the first Bioblitz in the Valencian Community. And what is a Bioblitz? Well, that’s easy to answer. A Bioblitz is a search for species during a specific time and at a specific place.
We arrived at our destination and immediately formed groups to begin work.
What was our mission and how were we going to achieve it? We had to find all the insect traps laid, photograph and gather specimens and samples of all the animal and plant species that we came across to be able to identify them later with the help of the biologist that accompanied us.
We never in our wildest imaginations thought we will find a new specie, that was not registered in the Valencian Community database in Biodiversidad (BDB),the excavating bee called Amegilla albigena, this is its photograph:
And how did this all come about?
With enthusiasm, effort, will, desire and interest. It was a gratifying experience that we will never forget.
