Project
international
One of the fundamental commitments of our school is the International Project.
We are aware of the need to prepare our students for an increasingly globalized world, in which multiculturalism plays a decisive role, and the knowledge of languages and cultures become essential tools.
For this reason, languages are a fundamental part of our Curriculum offer, and have great prominence in each of the educational stages.
At the moment, we carry out in the Center the Cambridge University, L’ Alliance Francaise and Instituto Cervantes level certification exams.
In addition, we offer the possibility of obtaining the Dual Spanish-American Baccalaureate and of carrying out short and long term educational exchanges with other European schools.
Lope de Vega International School is one of the organizations attached to the Erasmus + project, with all the educational and work-related advantages that this entails for our students.
Within the international dimension, the College has been organising student exchanges for a number of years
with other Educational Centres in Europe. There are two types of exchanges: short and long term and,
in both cases, students stay with a host family in the host country.
Long term exchanges
These are exchanges, lasting from one to three months, with our partner schools in Sweden, France, Germany, the Netherlands and Italy. Students who wish to learn or improve the language of the host country can apply from the 3rd year of ESO onwards, provided they are in good academic performance.
The student will stay with a family in the country and, in the same way, the child of that family will spend some time with the family of the first one. The aim is for both to be integrated as much as possible into school, family and social life, including acceptance of and respect for the relevant rules and regulations.
Short-term exchanges
Each exchange lasts two weeks: one week our students travel to the country concerned and another week the students from the other country come to Spain.
The programme includes: participation in normal school life, sports activities, attendance at events and cultural visits. The most important thing, however, is to share experiences with the foreign student and his or her host family, and to participate in the customs and habits of the country being visited. The usual language of communication is English, which guarantees a general improvement is achieved.
Economic cost
In both short-term and long-term exchanges, the additional financial cost for parents is minimal as it is practically limited to the cost of the airline tickets.
