Higher Technician in Early Childhood Education (TSEI)

The Higher Technical Degree in Early Childhood Education (TSEI), trains for the management of young children from a very practical point of view.

You will acquire the professional skills to:

  • Programme, design and carry out activities and projects of educational intervention and social care with children and their families.
  • Use resources and procedures to respond to the needs of children and families that require the involvement of other professionals or services;
  • Act in the event of unforeseen events and emergencies, transmitting security and confidence;
  • Maintain smooth relationships with children and their families;
  • Evaluate the intervention process and the results obtained, managing the associated documentation and transmitting the information;
  • Manage cultural diversity and provide solutions to conflicts that arise;
  • Learn how to use all existing resources for professional activity and how to update them for lifelong learning;

In addition, these courses include the necessary knowledge to:

  • Carrying out basic level occupational risk prevention activities;
  • To be able to obtain a food handler’s licence;

Studying the Higher Technical Training Cycle in Early Childhood Education at Lope de Vega International School offers an important advantage: a dynamic, eminently practical and professionalising training due to its unique educational environment;

The big difference is to be able to collaborate during the training period in real projects developed in the Infant Education Stage of the school itself; By the time you complete your work placement outside the school you will have had the experience of being involved in real educational projects, so you will be able to show confidence and become an excellent professional demonstrating your full potential;

The timetable of this training cycle is daytime, from 8.00 am to 1.00 pm; We work with small groups of students which will allow you to have individualised attention;

Direct access routes:

  • Any modality of Bachillerato;
  • Intermediate and Higher Level Training Cycles;
  • To have passed the entrance exam to CFGS (Higher Level Training Cycles);
  • Be in possession of a university degree or equivalent;
  • To have passed the university entrance exam for people over 25 years of age;

This cycle is divided into two academic years containing 2,000 hours of which 400 hours correspond to Workplace Training (FCT).

In addition to these 400 hours of FCT, throughout the whole training in our Centre, numerous practical activities are carried out in the stages of Infant Education and the first cycle of Primary Education together with the teachers of the training cycle and those of the corresponding stage;

Classes are face-to-face, in the morning, from 8.00 am to 1.00 pm.

The professional modules (subjects) taught in the cycle are:

  • Didactics of early childhood education.
  • Personal autonomy and child health.
  • Children’s play and its methodology.
  • Expression and communication.
  • Cognitive and motor development.
  • Socio-affective development.
  • Social skills.
  • Intervention with families and care for minors at social risk.
  • Childcare project.
  • First aid.
  • Training and career guidance
  • Business and entrepreneurship.
  • Workplace training.

With the acquisition of this Higher Degree, the Technician in Early Childhood Education can opt for the following professions:

  • Early Childhood Educator in the first cycle (from 0 to 3 years old) in both public and private nursery schools;
  • Educator in the non-formal setting (from 0 to 6 years old):
    • playrooms
    • book libraries or baby libraries
    • farm schools
    • hospital classrooms
    • animation spaces
    • colonies
    • children’s animation
  • Educator in the field of care for children under 6 years of age in a situation of social risk:
    • accommodation cetres
    • residential centres
